Ace Ghanaian Reggae musician, Blakk Rasta has described Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) as the most commercialized fraudulent award scheme in Ghana.
According to him, regrets winning awards from VGMA because an artist has to appeal to his or her fans and sympathizers to vote for him or her to win an award and this makes the award schemes very corrupt and materialistic.
“VGMA is the most commercialized, fraudulent and corrupt award scheme in Ghana. I regret winning awards from the awards scheme. Musicians have to appeal to their fans to vote for them to win an award, it doesn’t make sense. It shows how corrupt the award schemes are”. Blakk Rasta stated in a recent interview.
He also advised other schemes to rethink and structure how they organise their awards if they aim at awarding musicians for their excellent performances.
