Ayo Olu Ibidapo, Media Officer for the Nigerian Football Federation, has disclosed in an interview with Oyerepa FM that the Super Eagles contingent will arrive in Ghana with a Chattered flight for their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers play-off first leg clash against the Black Stars of Ghana.
According to him, although Ghana have been secretive with their squad for for the game, the Super Eagles aren’t perturbed about the delay of the squad announcement, adding that Nigeria need the world Cup spot more than Ghana.
“We have already started serious preparations for the game against Ghana. We will arrive in Ghana with a Chartered flight,” He mentioned exclusively on Oyerepa FM’s Today’s Sports hosted by Eugene Adu Poku [Striker]
“Nigerians need this World Cup more than Ghana, that Golden team of Ghana is appreciated and respected though. There is no Asamoah Gyan in the Ghana squad.
“For now, we Nigerians know that the match will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium so we are preparing for the game to be played there.” Ibidapo added.
The two West African countries will battle for one of the five available slots for the Qatar FIFA 2022 World Cup tournament.
Ghana hosts Nigeria on March 25 before taking the trip to Abuja four days later for the reverse fixture.
