Ace Kumawood actress, Mama Jane has fumed over the hardship she is going through despite being in the movie industry for forty-nine years.
According to she is financially handicapped and unable cater for herself. She says, sometimes she starves for the whole day.
Mama Jane, in an interview stated she has achieved nothing in her acting career.
She disclosed that a lot of people have the perception that most actresses are rich due to their choice of work however, the case is not like.
“That’s the reality of my life after acting for 49 years. People feel that I’m a star so I’m always rich. As I’m talking to you, I’m broke.
Mama Jane disclosed that, movie producers have stopped calling her for roles. Subsequently, those who call her gives her little amount of money to live on.
“Producers and directors don’t call me anymore. If they do, I would have gotten something small in my pocket. Unfortunately, they have neglected me”, she added.
Mama Jane further stated that, she cannot stop acting because it has become part of her.
“I can’t stop acting. I’ve been doing this since Osofo Dadzie era. That’s almost 50 years now. Until I die, I’ll continue to act. I’ve even informed one producer to make a movie with my dead body before they bury me. That’s when I die”, Mama Jane emotionally stated.
