Nine structures of the ongoing Sekyere Kumawu District Hospital Project to be pulled down, the District Chief Executive, DCE, Mr Samuel Addai Agyekum has revealed.
The 120 bed-hospital project was started by President John Mahama’s government in 2015. The project was estimated to cost $38.8 million and is projected to be due for completion in 2017.
According to the DCE, the nine structures are not up to standard. They failed an integrity test.
“We used pre-sub for the work but it’s weak. We are replacing them with blocks. After an audit by Crown Agency they found that those structures are weak, even the electrical cables are not up to standard.
“The Ministry of Health, Crown Agency came for the structural audit and decided to replace those weak materials so we are walking through their recommendation as a nation “. Mr. Agyekum told Nana Yaw Mensa Joel on Oyerepa Breakfast Time.
