Former Presiding Member for Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Hon. Stephen Kwame Kwakye, has expressed serious reservations about the New Patriotic Party’s, NPP, dictatorial administration.
According to him, the party in recent years has binned its democratic values and now rallying behind dictatorship rule.
The former PM’s sentiments are based on a recent viciousness in the NPP polling station elections and the decision by some party executives to allow aspirants to go uncontested. Also in the party’s parliamentary primaries in 2020, such issues came up that, some executives wanted a couple of sitting MPs to go unopposed.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Show, hosted by Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, the former PM said, the actions of the NPP leadership are dictatorial and it is a breach of the party’s rich democracy.
Kwame Kwakye, a staunch member of NPP intimated that, his party is no more democratic as many people perceive it. This he believes will hinder the agenda ‘Break the Eight’ going into 2024 general polls.
“NPP is no more democratic.” He categorically stated on the show.
The former PM disclosed that, the leadership of the NPP has completely failed since the party has despised its democracy.
However, he pleaded with the leader of the party, President Akufo-Addo to stand on his toes and remove the bad nuts within the NPP else, the party will go to opposition and will breakdown in the end.
“Akufo-Addo wake up, don’t let people think that what Ex President Kuffuor said about you is true.
“People feel you are behind the disturbances going on in the party. Don’t look on for NPP to collapse.” Kwame Kwakye concluded.
