The Assin Breku community in the Central Region is in a state of shock following the gruesome murder of a nine-year-old boy, who was discovered with his head almost severed and one hand missing.
The incident reportedly occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
A suspect has since been arrested and is currently assisting the police with investigations. Details surrounding the arrest indicate that residents detained the individual—whose identity remains unconfirmed—after discovering one of the boy’s severed hands concealed in a sack the suspect was carrying.
Following the apprehension, the suspect was subjected to a mob attack.
Reporting on the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Nana Shadrach confirmed that the angry mob attempted to set the suspect ablaze and also caused significant damage to the suspect’s residence.
Onlookers at the scene expressed profound shock at the brutality of the crime and urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.
