60-Year-Old man found dead in his room at Ahinsan
A 60-year-old man, identified as Opanin Akwasi Wusu, has been found dead in his room at Ahinsan in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region after reportedly going missing for three days.
According to reports, tenants in the house had not seen the deceased for several days and initially assumed he had travelled without informing anyone.
However, suspicions were raised when a strong and unpleasant odour began emanating from his room. Concerned residents forced the door open and discovered his lifeless body in a decomposing state.
The incident was reported to the police, who visited the scene and conveyed the body to the Kumasi South Hospital mortuary for preservation and further examination.
Speaking on the Ghanakoma Morning Show on Akoma 87.9 FM with host Sir John on Friday, May 29, 2026, freelance journalist Safo, who broke the story, said residents first noticed the pungent smell a day earlier but were unable to immediately determine its source.
He explained that neighbours had not seen Opanin Wusu for the past three days and believed he had travelled, only to later discover that he had died alone in his room.
Police have since commenced investigations to establish the cause and circumstances surrounding the death.
