A new survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics has revealed that 59% of Ghanaians believe their standard of living has improved under the current Mahama-led administration.

According to the findings, only 12% of respondents reported a decline in their living standards over the past year, while 25% said there had been no change. The remaining 11% were undecided or did not express an opinion.

The poll, conducted online between May 10 and May 20, 2025, gathered responses from 1,092 participants using a probability-based random sampling method. It was conducted with a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of ±3.82%.

These results come amid a period of growing optimism about Ghana’s economic outlook.

Since the start of 2025, the Ghanaian Cedi has appreciated significantly against major global currencies. This currency strength has been widely credited with reducing the cost of living in the import-reliant economy, leading to lower prices for key imported goods such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, and fuel.

In addition, inflation has continued to decline, reaching 18.4% in May 2025—the lowest rate since February 2022.

The survey findings suggest that, despite previous economic hardships, many Ghanaians are now beginning to feel tangible improvements in their everyday lives, pointing to a gradual recovery at the household level.
