Nana Yaw Mensah Joel and the Oyerepa Breakfast Show team, as part of their tour of hospital projects in the Ashanti Region, recently visited the Amansie West District to inspect the ongoing construction of the 40-bed Vamed Project, assessing its progress and facilities.
The Amansie Government Hospital is one of the twelve Vamed health facility projects initiated by the current government in 2020.
The team was pleased to observe that the project contractor has officially completed the construction and handed over the keys to the Assembly, pending official commissioning by the government.
When completed, the hospital will have an Outpatient Department with the requisite consulting rooms, Public Health Department with a 36-seater capacity waiting area, three antenatal consulting rooms, a counseling room, and two offices for Public Health Officers.
The theatre will consist of one Surgical Suite, one Minor theatre, a 2-bed recovery ward, and a Sterilization unit. The 40-bed ward of the hospital will also consist of an 8-bed Pediatric Ward, an 8-bed Male Ward, an 8-bed Female Ward, four Labor Delivery stations, an 8-bed Maternity Ward, a 4-bed Lying-in room, and a 2-bed Recovery room. The visit would take them to Sabronum and Drbonso as well.
However, the OBS team’s visit was part of their effort to monitor and report on the progress of government projects in the region aimed at assessing the quality of work, the level of completion, and the potential impact on the community.
Meanwhile, the project is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the area, providing much-needed medical services to the residents of Manso Nkwanta and surrounding communities.
The completion of this project demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and ensuring access to quality medical care for all citizens.
