New Okaff Industries Limited, an agrochemical manufacturing company located in the Ashanti Region, has generously donated items and cash totalling 100,000 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in preparation for Ghana’s 39th Farmers Day Celebration.
The donation, which took place on November 15, 2023, included a variety of valuable items such as AF Confidence Insecticides, Anti-snake repellent, and organic liquid fertilizers. Additionally, a generous sum of GHc10,000 in physical cash was also presented to the ministry.
Mr. Akwasi Adomako Boamah, the Commercial Director of New Okaff, explained that these items and cash were specifically intended to support the Agric Ministry in funding the annual event. The agrochemicals, he emphasized, were given to the ministry as a means of rewarding and recognizing the hard work of farmers.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr Yaw Frimpong Addo, the Deputy Minister of Food Agriculture, received the items and money with a deep appreciation for New Okaff’s remarkable act of kindness.
He said, “Every year, New Okaff supports us. They started in 2017 and they’re always among the first three to support us… We thank New Okaff for always responding to our calls… We hope that, next year you will continue to support us.”
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, however, pledged the Ministry’s unwavering dedication to enhancing the well-being of farmers and various agricultural industries in the country.
Ghana’s 39th Farmers Day Celebration as dictated by law will be held on Friday 1st December 2023 under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
The impending annual event is on the theme; “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience”
