The Provost of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Charles Marfo, has cast doubt on recent cocaine smuggling allegations made by Reverend Ntim Fordjour, describing the claims as unsubstantiated and politically motivated.
Rev. Fordjour recently stirred national controversy by alleging that over $350 million worth of cocaine had been smuggled into Ghana, with approximately $150 million allegedly linked to a 2024 parliamentary candidate from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking during a panel discussion on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Prof. Marfo questioned the integrity and intentions behind Rev. Fordjour’s claims, noting the absence of credible evidence presented to the public.
“Rev. Ntim Fordjour has an agenda that is not in the interest of the country, but rather to promote himself and his party,” Prof. Marfo said. “You said you have evidence—he should have presented it to Ghanaians. As I sit here, I doubt him; he is unable to convince me.”
