A driver and two mates have been seriously injured after a tipper truck with the registration number GE 8814-21 collided with an articulated truck at Buduatta Junction on the Kasoa-Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.
They have been rushed to St. Gregory Hospital.
Police sources say the driver of the tipper truck, registered as GM 2314-21, was heading towards Accra, while the articulated truck was traveling towards Takoradi.
In an interview with Adom News, the driver of the articulated truck, Daniel Addai, revealed that upon reaching Gomoa Buduatta Junction, he noticed that the driver of the tipper truck was asleep and was driving towards his lane.
According to him, he tried his best to avoid the accident, but was unable to do so due to the heavy load in his truck, which led to the collision.
Meanwhile, Ebo Anderson, a member of the Rapid Response Team at Gomoa Potsin, who assisted the Police in rescuing the victims, urged drivers to avoid reckless driving.
