Ghanaian dancehall icon Stonebwoy has congratulated King Promise for winning the coveted Artiste of the Year award at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on May 12, 2025, Stonebwoy wrote, “Congratulations King Promise on your win and on your debut entry into the league of AOTY winners. You’re welcome.”
The gesture of goodwill comes a year after both artistes went head-to-head for the same title in 2024, where Stonebwoy emerged as the winner.
This year’s race for Artiste of the Year was especially competitive, featuring standout talents such as Black Sherif, gospel icon Joe Mettle, Team Eternity, Kwaku Smoke, and fast-rising rapper King Paluta.
He also secured Afropop Song of the Year award for “Paris,” Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year, and Album of the Year for “True to Self.”
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy added to his accolades, winning Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year and Best Music Video of the Year*.
Other notable winners included Ayisi, Empress Gifty, Kofi Kinaata, Esther Godwyll, Kwaku Smoke, KiDi, Team Eternity Ghana, and Tulenkey.
