Dr. Samiu Kwadwo Nuamah, who is the former Member of Parliament for Kwadaso Constituency, has disclosed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is at risk of losing some votes in the Ashanti region, which is their stronghold.
Speaking on the Oyerepa Breakfast show Thursday morning with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, Dr. Nuamah explained that there is bitterness among some grassroots people because they feel neglected after choosing to follow a particular candidate.
“Some people have been neglected and excluded from party activities because they chose differently from what others wanted, which I believe is wrong,” he opined.
This situation could potentially impact our party, especially in the Ashanti Region, where many people are bitter and could decrease our votes if the necessary actions are not taken now.
“It’s not because our candidate was performing poorly, but due to the grievances among grassroots people who feel neglected for supporting a specific candidate in the party elections. The truth is that this could strategically affect our votes in the region in the 2024 elections,” he added.
“I strongly believe that the General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua, will do his best to ensure that such incidents do not reoccur, and it’s crucial that we win this election,” he disclosed.
“We need to involve all of them to secure victory, and this can only be achieved by bringing them closer to party activities.”
