Chaos erupted at the Ansarudeen Islamic School polling station when the presiding officer suggested reducing the number of polling agents.
The reason for this proposal, as reported by UTV, was the limited space available for officials at the polling station.
The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation, resulting in polling booths being knocked down during the clash in the Okaikoi Central Constituency. Security personnel were called in to restore order.
The 2024 general elections are currently underway across 276 constituencies in the country, with an estimated 18.8 million people eligible to vote. In the parliamentary elections, there are 111 candidates running as independents.
