The National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ghana’s main opposition party, has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility in the upcoming general elections.
Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the NDC, emphasized the importance of transparency for all stakeholders, as it ultimately enhances the credibility of the electoral process.
During a press conference, Mr Asiedu Nketia urged Civil Society Organizations, the National Peace Council, Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Leaders of Faith-Based Organizations, and all concerned Ghanaians to join the NDC in demanding greater transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
“Anybody interested in a peaceful election must begin demanding transparency and fairness elections. You don’t sleep over injustice and then come around to call the one who’s being treated unfairly to secure peace,” he stressed.
“If indeed you stand for peaceful elections the time is now for you to act to protect lives and properties. We are demanding nothing but free, fair, and credible elections,” he pointed out.
