Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, is set to join the Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana for a Peace Walk Campaign from 21st – 29th November ahead of the December polls.
The walk will commence from Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and conclude at Ga Mantse Palace in Accra. This initiative aims to promote peace and unity among Ghanaians, echoing the Asantehene’s previous efforts to foster harmony and cooperation.
At the official launch, Andrew Botchwey, President of Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana, announced plans for a historic walk from Kumasi to Accra. Adding that the event aims to rally citizens behind unity and peace.
Mr. Botchwey stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence. This initiative aligns with efforts by the United Nations in Ghana and the National Peace Council to promote peaceful elections through the I Pledge for Peace Campaign.
Ghana’s democratic reputation and institutionalized presidential transitions will be further strengthened through peaceful elections. The Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana’s Peace Gathering 2024 contributes to this endeavor, ensuring a harmonious electoral process.
