The Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu who doubles as Majority leader in parliament has refuted claims circulating that the 2023 budget will be read on 23rd November 2022.
Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is facing a censure motion moved by the Minority to kick him out of office. However, he has stated that he will still present the 2023 budget this week.
The 2023 budget which is supposed to be read in parliament on 24th November was however purported that it would be read ok 23rd November.
Reacting, to this grapevine, the Suame legislator in an exclusive interview with Nana Yaw Mensah Joel on Oyerepa Breakfast Morning show reiterated that such information is false and that the 2023 budget will be read on the actual date stipulated and communicated to Ghanaians.
Conversely, he urged the public to disregard any information indicating otherwise than the date set by parliament.
Meanwhile, both the majority and minority members have threatened not to show up in Parliament making it impossible for Ofori-Atta to have the constitutional quorum required to proceed with the budget presentation.
