15 Children, infant rescued by Boat as floodwaters inundate Tse Addo

At least 15 children and a months-old infant have been rescued by boat after severe flooding engulfed parts of Tse Addo in Accra following heavy rains on Monday, June 29.

The rescue operation was launched after rising floodwaters submerged sections of the community, leaving several residents stranded and unable to move to safer areas.

According to eyewitnesses, emergency responders, with support from local volunteers, used boats to evacuate the children and the infant from affected homes as water levels continued to rise.

The flooding is part of a broader emergency caused by persistent rainfall across the Greater Accra Region, which has inundated several communities, disrupted transportation, and forced many residents to seek refuge in safer locations.

Authorities are yet to provide an update on the condition of those rescued. However, residents have been advised to remain vigilant, avoid flooded roads and waterways, and follow safety instructions as rainfall is expected to continue.
